I like the little thing, but it really is a pain in the *ss to clean

I've named mine "george" in his honor, and in honor of all of his sons also named "george"

Mine didn't come with a scraper. Here's my cleaning technique. After using it & shutting it off, take a wet paper towel and put it on the grill & close it. This sorta steams off the crud & softens it up. Wait abt 10 minutes and then you can wipe the grill off with the same paper towel (if it's still damp) or a new one. Don't let the paper towel dry out entirely or it all hardens up again. It's still a pretty gross PITA to clean but this helps a bit.

That sounds like a great idea.

Our George Foreman grill has removable grilling plates, so it's not hard to clean. But it sounds like a great idea for the little sandwich grill we have.

I know what you mean about dried paper towels. My breadmaker is easy to clean if I do it right away. But if I leave it, the dried bread glues the pieces together. I put a damp paper towel on it, invariably forget it, and end up with a whole succession of wet paper towels before I manage to remember it when still damp.

I'll admit to filling dirty dishes with water, intending to wash them shortly, only to discover a spontaneous biology experiment happening several days later.
