I check babble constantly

Posted by LlurpsieNoodle on January 28, 2008, at 8:32:41

... when I'm really nervous.

Right now I'm waiting for my klonopin to start klonopinging. Then I will feel less paralysed.

Since I'm paralysed anyway, I might as well be paralysed in front of these calm vanilla screens, waiting for someone to respond to my post, or P's response to my post.

http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/neuro/20080114/msgs/809303.html

Is that a shameless plug or what.

The truth is that I probably spend way too much time on babble. Well, I only work 2 shifts a week, and if you've ever tried machine quilting a queen sized quilt (my latest craft project) or knitting a sweater (80% done) then you would understand why I need a babblebreak. Plus, I'm procrastinating sending mortgage broker a pay stub, giving landlord 60 days notice, working on a manuscript, etc...

I'm just venting at this point.

sigh

double sigh

I go lay down now in anticipation of pinging

more things I'm procrastinating
-reading 3 articles for a class I'm taking
-going downstairs and machine quilting another line
-going to the store to buy more frozen dinners
-buying more white thread. inconceivable, but I ran out
-dishes
-laundry
-putting garbage in can
-putting recycleables in the other can
-redoing my manicure
-scrubbing my face
-leaving the house (bitterly cold right now. thanks Canada- you can keep your jet stream right up where it belongs next time!)

wait! hark! is that pinging?! I think it's klono-pinging right now. I shall get started on my list. *yawn* I need a gulp (just a gulp) of red bull

and my burps taste like vitamins and fishoil. eww!
(sorry-- thought I'd share)

I want to MOVE into my new house. to live on the floor (we don't own a couch!) and dine at the breakfast bar in the huge kitchen. to build a little cozy fire in the wood stove. (have to buy wood first)

and and and

this was a fun consciousness stream. thanks for going along with it

I check babble all the time, too. Don't post anywhere near as much as I used to (believe it or not!) but I'm always looking. As far as compulsions go, it's fine, though sometimes my eyeballs complain that I don't blink often enough.

I knit and quilt kind of impulsively. I go to the fabric or yarn store and see what catches my eye. then I buy it and think of a project after that.

queen size is pretty big though. this one might not be done in 2 days...

Llurpsie, you did some of the stuff on your list and that's great. Congrats to you!!

I'm sorry life sucks right now and that your T is going to be out longer than anticipated. That REALLY sucks. I know you must have been eagerly anticipating seeing him tomorrow. It had to be a huge letdown to get that call.

I'm around. Let me know if you wanna kick my butt at Scrabble or something. We could meet up at scrabulous.com.

Isn't Scrabulous too cool?

I sometimes get into checking PB also. Some days if I'm 'not doing too well', I'll be online for literally hours.

Then I feel SO crappy afterwards.

the moment of making the list I feel calm. then things start picking up again, anxiety-wise.

I did do some productive things today though. I should give myself credit.

Of course you should give yourself credit!!!

Lists, like resolutions, are meant to be broken
;-)

Just kidding, but really, getting stuff out of my head onto a paper helps calm me & anyway, I LOVE making lists.

But I think the thing is to know that it's a guideline. I love crossing or checking things off on a list.

I think if we do the list thing, we should be kind to ourself & say HEY look what I DID (not look what I didn't do!)

hugs, Kath

PS - I'm having my daughter make up a chart for me with days along the top & 'things I can do to help depression' along the side...specific things, like 'use my SAD light lamp', 'take selenium', 'exercise' etc.

She & I are going to be "exercise buddies" and "water drinking buddies". Today she emailed me that she'd walked for 10 - 15 minutes & then wrote "just a gentle nudge"....so when I went to the chiropractor, afterwards, I went to a little lake & river in the town & walked along it for 15 minutes. It inspired me that she'd done it. Normally I would NOT have gone walking. And as to water, I HATE drinking water, but drank a cup when I read her email & said, "I just drank a cup of water - ugh!"

Anyone wanting to join as buddies, just say so!

:-)) Kath

I used to buy bottles of lemon juice at Costco -- *BIG* bottles of lemon juice! -- and put a few drops of it into my water bottles, which I would put in the freezer, then take to work with me the next day. The water was cold much of the day, and the lemon juice made it seem more refreshing.

A few years ago, I decided I wanted to cut back on caffeine, so I started drinking water. Still do -- I buy cases of bottled water at Costco, and go through about two cases or so a week. (700 mL, 28 per case.) It's just plain water now, and I do find it refreshing. In fact, I often find myself looking forward to switching from caffinated beverages in the morning to the water I drink the rest of the day.

You may find that you have an easier time of it once you've had a little more practice. :-)

I drank a whole bottle of BJ (another warehouse club) water when I took my vitamins this am.

That's a good opportunity to get some water in, right?

and herbal tea counts too, in my humble opinion

Bottled water does seem to make it more do-able...and yes, I also plan to add herbal teas.

I'm doing more on the 'cutting back on caffeine' thing than on the adding water & herbal teas thing.
