And it's really upset me. I just worry that the next call is going to be them. It's the same company/organization every time. I've told them multiple times to put me on their Do Not Call list in February. The calls stopped then. But have now started up again. Why do they keep calling me? How do I get them to stop? (before I go crazy)

Isn't there some place to report them too? I'd just hang up. We unplug our phone but we use our cell phones. Love Phillipa

Hi Angela2,
If you haven't all ready, you need to get on the national do not call list and if your state has one, there list, too. Keep in mind if it's a charity looking for money, they are exempt from the do not call lists. What I do with charities is politely say *I was just writing out the check, but since you pestered me again I ripped it up* and then I hang up.

I'm on the state and national do not call list's but I still get a lot of recorded message calls.
I screen every call I get--which ain't that many.

If you happen to pick up and it's them, demand the person's home number so you can harass them--or ask to speak to a supervisor. I'm sure they'll hang up at that point.

I used to have that same annoyance. The same people/company would call everyday. If I pick up the phone too late they hang up or something.
Once I picked up the phone on the first ring because I was mad. They said blahblahblahblahblah.....and its a great deal...all we need is your money.
I said 'why would I want to give someone/a company money, if they call me everyday and hang up. That is basically pank calling! Its very rude, and I do not want to do business with you. DO NOT call here again!'
They stopped calling. Thank God.

I checked and we are already on the Do Not Call Registry. I am going to file a complaint with the FCC. Thanks everybody.

Maybe something happened to their do not call list. I work for a market reseach call centre, the do not call registry doesn't apply to us because lawmakers recognize the importance of reseach, but we maintain our own do not call lists. More likely than not an autodialer dials the numbers. Maybe something happened to thier list.
Just say, "Put me on your Do Not Call List" again. If you just hang up or get angry and hang up, it counts as a refusal, but you won't be put on the Do Not Call List.

You have to wait 31 days before you can expect telemarketers to stop calling you. Make sure you don't have a business relationship with them, as this will exempt the company. If you do have a business relationship with them, I suggest telling them to put you on their Do Not Call List.
If the company is not a charity or asking to do a survey, then you should get the company's name, telephone number and the date they called you and file a complaint on the registry's website.

Thank you very much Deneb! Actually, they are taking a survey. I have told them at least 5 times to put me on their Do Not Call List. Does this mean they will keep calling me??

Hmmm...they really should have stopped calling you after the first time you told them to put you on their DNC list.
I don't see how they would keep calling you unless people weren't doing their job right. Next time ask to speak to the supervisor. Tell the supervisor about how you've told them to put you on the DNC list and they still keep calling.
