Yes, Phillipa, I do sometimes.

I'm sorry you are right now.

Did you feel this bad before the medication change? Medication changes can be awful themselves.

I'm glad you set the bicycle goal for yourself. Are there other small goals that you can set for yourself that are also anxiety reducing? Like "I resolve to snuggle with Chloe, or throw her a ball, or scritch her tummy, for at least ten minutes at a time five times a day."

Have you ever tried meditation? I don't think I meditate well, I think it slips more towards self hypnosis, but whatever I do, it helps some.

Have you ever learned deep breathing techniques?

Anxiety is awful, and I hope you get some relief from it.

Sorry to hear about this. Have you spoken with your doc?

Peace to you...Saturn.

> I need some support I think I usually don't ask for support. But getting up later every day. Lowered my valium and uppid my luvox and taking lunesta now with xanax at night. I got up after ll am and have no desire to do a thing except stare and worry. My eyes are blurry sun hurts them. Diarrhea at times. Can a depression finally beat you down so you can't get up anymore. I've been forcing myself to ride my bike everyday to feel like I'm doing something. I feel so helpless as I have an appointment with a new PHD for counseling tomorrow and she will turn me away and say I'm not stable enough for working on me. Any suggestions. Do any of you ever feel helpless? Thanks Phillipa

Hi,

You may be suffering withdrawal from the Valium,
as you say you lowered it; the increase of the
luvox may not have the same half-life to catch up with that.

I'm glad you are seeing a dr. soon. I hope your new dr. does not turn you away. Maybe she will refer you to an expert.

Hang in there.

See I wrote about the bike myself and forgot already. Uggg. I try to deep breath one of the reasons for the bike. I couldn't meditate if you paid me. Can't sit still for that. But can't go out. This argument goes on all day in my head. I need a new brain anyone got one for sale? Love Phillipa

She had a setback, I'm afraid. I was hoping the diagnosis was wrong, but the setback made me think it was probably right. It's not a straight and steady progress down. It's more that she stays the same or gets better as her little brain makes new and compensating neural connections. Then bang, an important neural link somewhere else breaks, and she gets much worse. Then she gets a bit better.

Really it's astonishing all the things she *can* still do.

How's Chloe? Is she turning into a good companion? I wonder if you and she would enjoy obedience training?

Chloe is on her back whenever you walk by for a belly rub. Just got spayed a few weeks ago. She's an ADD dog. But a sweetheart. Teddy the toy poodle is the sweetheart of all the other dogs in the neighborhood. Chloe is still all pup and jumps all over them. Teddy just wants love. That's Diana for occupying my mind. And I hope you baby continues to do well. As I think of her all the time believe it or not. Love Jan

Saturn and Squiqqles thanks so much for drug one. I see that I should be on ativan instead of xanax or valium with luvox which I told the stupid pdoc. Did she listen no. So no wonder the pharmacy questioned two benzos. So I'm getting a larger dose of the valium and xanax. I wonder how much more? Anyone know if it's significant? How many mgs? Love Phillipa

Phillipa - Just be aware that you can find anything on the Internet. I would be more likely to trust someone who went to medical school about prescription medications than the Internet. But it's possible your pdoc's wrong, I would have no idea. Just be careful. I wouldn't want you to get hurt.

Fay I did it increases the halflife of the valium by l00% basically. I don't know the pharmokenetics (sp?) of half lives do you? For now I'm not worrying about it as I've been on them all a month already. Love Phillipa

Sorry for how you're feeling, Jan. And sorry I couldn't be more timely in responding.

I really hope I'm not sounding like a broken record these days, but mindfulness meditation can be a great way to dissipate some anxiety. Anxiety is natural, but hanging onto it is what sucks. In case you missed the link I posted elsewhere, here it is again: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mindfulness

Take care.

Phiilipa,

If you are reducing benzos, that could definately make one feel out of conrol, very anxious, all kinds of things- worse than before even for a short time- but as you know, it passes. It's helped me before to just remind myself repeatedly that I am experiencing drug effects, I'm not "worse", it's not "me", or any such sort of thing. I'm glad to hear you are still bike riding- maybe ride even more for awhile to help dissapate some of the excess tension? It's helped me before, it's also been a way to clear my head when I've been too worked up to do so by sitting quietly.

Best of luck!

Laima

Oh Hunny,

(((((((((((((((((((you)))))))))))))))))))))))

I often feel helpless (& hopeless).

I hope that the PHD will work with you. I suspect it won't be a problem.

If you can keep riding your bike that'll be a very good thing. Physical exercise is great. It's one thing I find really hard to do.

Sounds like you're on a fair number of meds. You know how meds have various side effect & sometimes you need to take one to deal with the side effects of another & then another to deal with the side effect of THAT one.... I bet part of the way you're feeling might be part of that whole chain. Is it a p-doc who perscribes the meds? Just hoping you're telling whoever gives you your meds - ALL the details of how you're feeling. Also, the times at which you've felt shifts in how you're feeling.

Phillipa, you are such a kind, caring, lovely person. You're such a part of the BACKBONE of PBabble, in my opinion. You do such good in being HERE for us. I am so glad you spoke out about needing support!!!

I wish I lived near you to physically be there for you.

Keep us up to date with how you're feeling & how things are going.

I send my love & am holding light for you.

hugs, Kath
