B vitamins!

Why do they make me feel so good?

Dunno, they make me feel lousy! (with the exception of B6)

B vits are funny like that, they either benefit you or they make you feel junk. Doesn't seem to be any middle ground with them.

Glad they help you!

Yeah I agree. They make my anxiety a lot worse. No middle ground with them it seems. :(

Hi nolvas,

have you tried B6 only? I take 100mg a day (along with a few other things) and find it helps me.

Still on my regimen, and whilst I still have relapses and bad spells, at the very worst my situation seems to have stabilised if not improved a bit.

Self medicating with alcohol helps too! :-)

Funnily enough, I don't need much alcohol at all for the anxiety to lift. Tonight for example, I've only drunk just over 1 glass of wine and I'm relaxed as can be. Now why would such a relatively small amount of alcohol have such a powerful effect?

I have to disagree, at least for me. I take a B-100 complex every day and basically it does nothing good or bad that I can notice. At first I thought it was acting as a strong anxiolytic, but after isolating the individual supplements I was taking, the effect is primarily caused by the unintentionally large dose of Cod Liver Oil (3-6 teaspoons rather than 1 teaspoon as directed on the bottle), though there seems to be somewhat of a synergistic effect, but the B-100 by itself does nothing discernible.

Alcohol has powerful effects on neurotransmitters in the brain.

They are healing! Feel things better. Vision is a little better. Feeling better.

I've added biotin 5000mcg to mix.

Unfortunaly B-vitamins won't replace AD's but they make me feel better in other ways, like nerve endings.

B6 is especially useful in the brain. It is involved in the conversion of tryptophan to serotonin. I've read that B6 alone is a cure for depression for some.

"those who had taken both folic acid and vitamin B6 each day had a 20% increased risk of heart attack and stroke, despite their homocysteine levels going down by up to 30%. "

My doctor told me to take them. What size doses were these people taking, and how late in a disease were they, could that have something to do with it?

Doses of drugs were folic acid 0.8 mg/day (+ vitamin B12 at a dosage of 0.4 mg/day) and vitamin B6 at a dosage of 40 mg/day

This also helps with mood, a great deal, so much that I get head acks with out it.
