My current success with medicines.

Posted by jonhed on May 22, 2016, at 14:35:15

This may sound unconventional but i want to write what has helped me better than anything.

I am diagnosed with severe hypochondria (health anxiety), dependent personality disorder, ptsd, panic disorder with dissociation and GAD.

I have a list with my past medicines and it is 38 different substances (i am 26 years old).
Everything makes me anxious due to my severe hypochondria.

My current regimen is low dosage, but strong, medicines:

30mg Methadone
10mg Nitrazepam
15mg Zopiclone.

Nothing has ever worked on me except that. My life has been hell, absolute hell, until now.

I KNOW, that it is very very addicting drugs. But if i have to choose death or an addiction, i choose addiction.

I want to share this because people need to know that these medications exist and if it can save only one life i am happy.

Thanks / J

I was at a school today that i'm going to start in at fall, and i'm so damn nervous that my doctor is going to discontinue my methadone tomorrow.
Because if she does that i'm not going to be able to study.
It takes away my obsessive intrusive thoughts, and if they come back i wont be able to be around people..

Therefore i feel very nervous today and extremely anxious..

Nice, i absolutely love berlin in Christmas time :-D

How are you doing today?

Friends,
The poster here wrote,[...the doctor is going to stop my methadone tomorrow...].
Be advised, that by that doctor doing so, the the poster here could die.
I am prevented from posting about this drug here due to the prohibitions posted to me here by Mr. Hsiung. Yet today, he does not intervene here to warn readers that death could result from methadone being stopped. This is what readers could think is being supportive for Mr. Hsiung states that being supportive takes precedence. Death takes precedence? And prohibiting me from posting about this drug is being supportive?
You see, there is a Great Deception that I prevented from posting about here by Mr. Hsiung. That policy of his could cause the death of readers here.
Their blood will not be upon me.
Lou

My current success with medicines - Linkadge? » jonhed

Would your doctor consider using buprenorphine in place of the methadone? Tramadol is anther opioid that is less addictive and less euphoric than the others. It is a bit weak, though.

You might want to look into low-dose naltrexone (LDN).

I'm sure that Linkadge, someone who posts on Psycho-Babble frequently, can offer you more ideas regarding the manipulation of the opioid system.

its pretty hardcore taking opioids for psychiatric disorders but i cant blame you for not wanting to suffer.

Yes she said that she's considering buprenorphine, but only 4 milligrams.
I can take that to but i get a little bit manic from buprenorphine, but it's better than nothing!

I will post here tomorrow and update you about what she has in mind.

Yes, it's hardcore i know but this suffering is too much for me and like i said, better to be addicted than dead. in my opinion.

Nitrazepam is good for sleep i think but you get pretty foggy and a little bit "out of it"..

I hope everyone in here get well, couse we deserve better...

And another thing is that methadone passes through your body (especially the liver) without making to much harm.
That can't be said about buprenorphine..

Bless you, jonhed. That's awesome that you found a combination that worked for you. No shame at all in that. I envy you. I too have a terrible anxiety disorder and have struggled with it all my life. (I'm 49 now.) Whatever works, I say. I hope you continue to benefit from your current treatment. Prayers.

Chris

I'm going to be honest now.
Before i was buying the methadone illegal and now i had my meeting with pdoc.

She's absolute awesome and 73(!) years old.

She said that the severity of my obsessive thoughts is to hard to handle so she gave me 10mg methadone, i'm very happy and she's willing to raise it to 20 at the most if the thoughts don't fade..

In her 50 year as a psychiatrist she have never prescribed methadone for psychiatric issues.

The thing is that i can't tell you about the themes of my obsessions because it isn't acceptable..

I discontinued my nitrazepam at my own recommendation because it makes me very boundless(?)..

If it makes your life better, so be it. Sounds like your psychiatrist is trying to balance helping you and being thoughtful at the same time. Thankfully, you found someone like her. Good luck.

Thanks.

Is it someone here to that have similar problems with intrusive thoughts, and if so, what has helped you?

I'm not sure if this will help in the long term and i'm open to other treatments to.

In my opinion it is a very hard thing to work with when the thoughts is of violent nature and exposure therapy isn't possible at all.
Therefore it is always helpful with other peoples success-regiments.
Or regiments that have pooped out, so to say.

I have follow up in a month and she mentioned TMS (Trans cranial magnet stimulation) and
DBS (Deep brain stimulation).
I want to avoid that in every possible way so some input would be helpful for me and surely for other people to.

Because these things are hard to talk about because of the nature of the themes.

Hugs /J
