Anybody feeling ill treated by their pharmacy?

And. If so, how do you handle it? I mostly cry, but that is not effective.

not to pry, but...what happened, if you don't mind me asking?

They automatically refilled a script $$$$ that I didn't request. Had stopped taking after the initial prescription. I was on vacation, and came home to a message of many refills waiting to be picked up.

They didn't want to refund my money from the sealed, unopened package a day later, when I was jet lagged and there was a queue of people behind me when I picked it up along with 6 others. Said it against policy. (New to me. They have done this twice before.)

The manager chose to discuss the matter with me from across the room, loudly, instead of using the "consultation" area in the pharmacy for just such discussions. Now my scrips have a hand written note on them saying "make sure pt is still taking this med before dispensing."

Manager ate crow on the phone with me, but he's a meathead. No idea of how to provide service in a sensitive way.
Grrr. I could change pharmacies, but it would be 15 scrips.

New manager, btw.

This is a new thing I've noticed with pharmacies automatically refilling scrips. I don't take that many drugs, so if they tell me I have two scrips ready when I've just come for one, I'll tell them I don't want the other one. But with 15 scrips! Hard to keep track.

I keep them all on a tray, with morning on on side, AM and PM in the middle, and nightime only on the far side. I took everything off automatic refill because the pharmacy was giving me 2 months' supply of some meds, which is a total waste of money. I haven't decided whether to stay with this place since, at the end of the day, even though he says he apologized, it didn't sound like it. More like, I'm sorry you think I am a d*ckh**d. Not using those words.

I would rather not be taking all this stuff. But I have other conditions besides the psych conditions. Migraine, which accounts for a prophylaxis and a supplement (I get elsewhere), high blood pressure, low thyroid, hormones to treat peri menopause, and supplements for treating borderline bad cholesterol numbers (again, I get elsewhere). Traveling is fun! Not!

Wait a minute seriously were the meds still behind the counter just filled? Did you walk out of the store with the scripts paid for? If not in no way can they say you must take those meds. Only if you walk out of the store with the meds can they not take them back. As leaving the store with meds isn't allowed then to return. But CVS has my thyroid on automatic refill. So it is ready for me. The others 3 or four I just let them know when want them refilled. Not trying to be intrusive but I have borderline 130 or so cholesterol numbers. Don't take a med for it per doc cause my HDL is so high when average it in with the total cholesterol number I come out in the low risk category even though LDH is high. Figure that one. Did you stop all salt or try B6 for blood pressure? It helps water retention at that time of month. I remember the migraines. 15 is a lot of prescriptions. And I also used bioidentical hormones during menopause. But had them compounded into a cream. Why I've gotten so long winded no idea. So apologize for this in advance. Phillipa

I have no idea what you are saying. I take my meds. I just stopped the auto refill on everything because I was ending up with extras weeks' worth of them all.

That if they were filled but still in the store. They belong to the drug store. You tell them that you don't want them. Problem solved. Phillipa

I typed up a long response and it went nowhere. Doesn't matter. I tried to return the med the next day, unsealed in the bag, and they would not take it. That was my beef because they had done it before. (Messed up an order only to have me return it the next day.)
End of story.

Seriously that happened to me. Picked up a script exited the pharmacy and took it immediately back in and was told since I exited the store couldn't return it. Against the law they said. and was still in the sealed bag. The bottle of remeron to this day sits in a basket unopened in the bathroom closet. Phillipa

I made such a stink - plus it was a $50 co-pay - that I insisted they refund me. I had never asked for it to be put on auto refill, it was entirely their fault.
I am very very nasty as a consumer since having managed several stores when I was younger. Having the name of the guy's boss was good to get too.
He is a bossy incompetent, and I have no pity on those who throw their weight around, intimidating consumers.

I would be the same if I was the manager of our ebay. What some write. Oh the things I'd write back. Good thing I'm not for sure. Phillipa
