Doing better

Posted by cloudydaze on December 21, 2007, at 19:32:29

My lamictal was increased to 125mg and I am finally feeling better.

I started a job yesterday after being unemployed for 6 months! Its not a design job, but its a part time/holiday help job at the coffee shop in the mall. I know the owner and she was nice enough to offer me the work.

After 2 days of working I am exhausted and in pain (mainly my back - having muscle spasms again) but i am proud of myself for being able to work.

Hopefully I am on the road to recovery.

Congrats. Day by day is what I have to do. Some are better than others but that is the way it goes.

Peace

thank you for the message. All the bests to you too. :)

I have had about 3 good days. I have been off meds for 5 months and it has been a struggle but I think my anxiety is calming down. OCD is still around but manageable. Meds cause too many side effects. Peace

Hey Johnj,
Thanks for the returned greeting. I was wondering if you were on some kind of alternative program now that you've managed to wean yourself from the meds.

By that I mean some kind of targeted therapy, meditation, exercise, diet, those sorts of things.

Since the OCD is decreasing, whatever you're doing is the right thing in that respect.

Keep on getting out,
Reggie BoStar

When I was weaning I tried acupuncture for quite some time but I really didn't find that it helped much. I even have problems with vitamins. Vitamin D and calcium don't make me feel well. Somes B vits, magnesium have not helped either.

I found that my appetite did increase a lot but that is ok since I am a really think guy. I craved a lot of meat/protein. I have a feeling it was my brain needing to make neurotransmitters or something. The thing that has helped me the most is a no wheat diet. Also, I stopped by antihistamine as it made me feel weird (allegra).

So right now I am focusing on very healthy foods. Also, heavy exercise did not help either as it ruined my sleep. I believe my body was competing with the protein and breaking down my body took away from what my brain needed. I do tai-chi and some yoga for now but will slowly increase my activity as my sleep etc., improves.
It is all speculation as to why things are the way they are.

Good luck

johnj
