Hello , I would like to hear some thougths about
people who has tried both , Remeron and Tolvon.
Wich one do you like better? and whyI tried Tolvon some months ago and it make me
feel very anxious. Do you believe Remeron will be
the same?Are these 2 drugs considered in the same family?

Yes, they're very closely related. Only Remeron is available in the US though so you might not get many responses. Darkhorse has taken both, you can search for his posts.

I have taken both.
I had two different reactions to these drugs.
But keep in mind that (I think) my "neuro chemistry" might not be representative for most depressed people....
Tolvon was very sedative and increased my appetite very much, too much. But I didnt feel much of a antipressive effect. I find it much more sedative than amitripyline. I was on it for a few weeks.
Remeron gave me an early response within the first 3 days, but then made me much worse... mask like face etc...

Thats a very interesting question Tep
I have taken Remeron/Mirtazapine, and I think its perhapse the best AD I've tried.
It seems to me to be one of those 'love it or hate it' drugs.
One the initial sedation wore of I found it significantly brightened my mood.
You will feel very groggy in the day to begin with though!I've only taken Tolvon/Mianasian for sleep, it seemed to make me a little jittery in the day, I think its more Naredrenic than Mirtazapine, which is quite Noradrenagic.
Your own experience with Tolvon has put me off trying it a bit.........

In my experience Mirtazapine can be combined with MAOIs, I've combined it with Marplan no problem
Although you should be careful if you've got high blood pressure!

I have bougth the Remeron. Im gonna start it
in a couple of days. It´s rare but there is a
message printed on the box that says not to
split the 30mg tablet. I was thinking in starting
with only 15mg but with that message I dont know
If I should cut the medicine.Im afraid guys. Every time there is less meds to try . Maybe I need a big Combo. I´ve never been

Are you using Remeron or REMERONSolTab® ? REMERONSolTab® shouldn't be cut, as it has a special orally disintegrating format (that means it literally decomposes as it enters your mouth). I can't imagine any great danger but it probably would taste "yucky", as well as the fact that it wasn't intended to be split like Remeron so one would end up with unknown amounts of pill fragments and dust and they would be subject to degradation by the air.That's just my guess.

I love the taste of Zispin SolTabs - a sweet orange flavour. Very nice!
I had the 15mg SolTabs. They were easy to cut in half with a sharp knife. The tended to disintegrate if I tried to cut them into quarters though. If I only wanted to take a quarter of a tablet, I used to crush the tablet to a powder and separate it into four approximately equal piles. These low doses were very sleep inducing. It did make me hungry though. I licked my finger to pick up the powder.

Yes they are soltabs ! ........ so I shouldn´t cut them ? you mean that if I cut one tablet then I could lose some mg of medicine in the other part ? ....

>I forgot they had that fruity flavour :) It just means that if you cut them they will have more exposure to the air and you should probably use the next part immediately, as well as unless you have an extremely sharp cutter, its likely to crumble the pill and you can only guess how much Remeron you'll have in a dose, that's all.
