I have taken both.
I had two different reactions to these drugs.
But keep in mind that (I think) my "neuro chemistry" might not be representative for most depressed people....
Tolvon was very sedative and increased my appetite very much, too much. But I didnt feel much of a antipressive effect. I find it much more sedative than amitripyline. I was on it for a few weeks.
Remeron gave me an early response within the first 3 days, but then made me much worse... mask like face etc...
