I have been taking 225mg of Effexor XR for a little over a year. It has worked great until about a month ago. I began experiencing the same feelings I had prior to taking the medication. I feel like the Effexor is no longer working. Is this possible? Does anyone have experience to share?

It most definitely is possible. See my post:
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/20030624/msgs/238153.htmlMy Effexor XR didn't stop working while I was taking it the first time, but after being off of it (and everything) for 6 months and starting to have suicidal thoughts again, my doc started me back on Effexor XR. (I was on 225 mgs too.) It didn't work at all that time, and I had major side effects - didn't tolerate it at all. That's when I started on my long journey of trying many different meds (and my journey of finding a new psychiatrist!).
Don't be afraid to try new meds, but it may take a while to find the right one(s).

+++++++++++++++++++++++Yes!! I am taking effexor XR as well and I have been on it for several years and I feel it is not working anymore either. I go to a new Doc on Monday, so we will see what he puts me on. Good luck to you.
