Anyone want to talk cat litter??

Posted by gadchik on December 9, 2013, at 7:18:14

I was completely sick of clay litter. Dust everywhere, had to wear a mask to scoop it, and felt like it was getting into my lungs, and swallowing my whole house. Well,I abruptly switched to Worlds Best Cat Litter. I know ur supposed to gradually do it, but I had a talk with my cats, and told them they must use it. They refused for a week, did their business outside. Finally, the older one used it...then my kitten! Im thrilled to scoop cat poop! No more dust, love it! No mask!

My older cat is happy to allow me to switch between 2 scoopable litters now. Her only quirk is she wants one tray for #1 and another for #2. And woe betide us if we don't scoop!!

At 14 years I think she is allowed to be eccentric.

Let's see: Scoop Away, and Fresh Step, either unscented.

Im the one that's quirky about the box! I scoop out the contents as soon as I can after I realize its been used.My friend just cleans her's out whenever, but I do it several times a day. My cats do both in the box, 1 and 2, and they use the same box!

I used to have two cats and they were much less discriminating, too. No wonder my kitty's name is Psycho. Maybe she has a touch of OCD?

I use Tidy Cat multi-cat scoopable. I have three cats and three litter boxes. My oldest has kidney failure so she pees up a storm and my 25 pounder boy, let's just say he poops like an elephant.

Love my kitties, hate scooping every day, but it's better than the dust storm.

These cats r the first Ive had since I was a child. The older one, I adopted from Petsmart. I had no intention of buying a kitten when I walked in, but I ended up at her cage...love at first purr! Then, when hiking thru the woods one day, my other kitten came out of nowhere and followed me for 2 mi home. Im wondering if I should have 2 litter boxes? Mine are inside/outside cats, but stay in more during the winter months.

It all depends if you have litter tray issues. My two males could not agree which one was alpha. Steaming piles of poo left unburied Adjacent to the box. 2 trays helped. My one cat is in the garage all night (in a tropical climate) so the second box was for days when we couldn't let her in there. Now it has evolved into that pee and poo thing.

Cannot figure out my cat. Love her purrs, they sound very sincere.

My husband adopted two kittens from the same litter at 8 weeks. They had been at a shelter, in the same cage practically from birth. They share a food bowl, a water bowl, a litter box. I never had a pet before until he adopted them 2-1/2 years ago.

They're very beautiful creatures, very graceful. Amazing proprioception. Very low maintenance. But I don't quite get how people can become so attached to cats (as opposed to dogs - not that I ever had a dog). They don't even seem to know their names.

But they're sweet. Play together a lot, groom one another, like to hang out in whatever room my husband and I are in. Like to be petted.

I use arm and hammer scoopable. VERY dusty!
Right after I scoop, my girl cat just has to christen it right away. It doesn't stay clean for very long.
I just love their furry little faces.

I put out another litter box last night, and both were used. Pee in one, poop in the other! If cats didnt purr, we'd really be missing out on a treat! : )

I guess I humanize my pets, and therefore, get sooo attached to them. I study them, watch how they interact. Mine know their names! I talk to them alot, and they answer with meows! Yes, theyre so graceful, beautiful.
