It's obvious at least to me that babble is no longer being used by most so any heads up as to when babble will close as use the search bar for other sites. Thanks Phillipa.

Phillipa, why would you think Psychobabble is no longer being used? I see lots of new messages everyday.

I can't really see any other reason for your almost monthly posts on this topic. Wouldn't it just be easier for you go somewhere you are happier?

Jane,
Is it plain that the poster made a statement that she was unhappy? I do not see that in the statement, so if you could expound upon whatever you see in the statement by Phillpa to indicate that she is unhappy, then I could have the opportunity to respond to you here.
Jane, I do not see how a connection to what Phillipa wrote here could indicate that she is trying to convince anyone to leave. If you could post what is plain that indicates that,if there is such, then I could have the opportunity to tell you what I thiink of what you wrote to her here.
Now I do see from a perspective of one that follows this site, as I think Phillipa is also a follower, that there are indications that {could} cause one to think that the site is ready to close. One is the fact IMHHHO that there are outstanding requests on the admin board that go back days, weeks months and years. I invite readers to look at those and make your own determination as to what could happen if those requests were answerd. Could lives be saved?

Phillipa, every time I see a post of yours on this topic, I am surprised. I never see any objective reasons for why this is such an on-going worry for you. It looks to me as though there has been quite a bit of new posting recently.
Could you let us know what is causing you to feel this way so strongly? Is it Dr. Bob's absence, or the changes from what it was several years ago? It seems clear that this site is not meeting your needs now, but why isn't it? What would make it more satisfactory to you?

I miss it being more interactive. I felt like I could just blend into all the different posts. Now I feel sort of exposed, with less of us posting. I don't like going to a website where I look like I've posted too much, but I want someone to say something.

I wasn't here in its so-called hey-day, but it seems to me that there has been a lot of posting recently in particular. Even if posting rates are lower than a decade ago I see no reason why Babble should close.
I too am puzzled by your frequent posts about this, Phillipa. I kind of feel like you are trying to create a problem that doesn't exist, but I know this wouldn't be your intention at all.

Let's see at one time there was a writing board, a relationships board, a separtate health board,an eating board if not mistaken which I most certainly could be. Also a withdrawal board, a self-esteem board all of which were closed do to lack of posting. Check the dates of last posts on remaining boards. And to me at least If back when other boards were closed. Many others would now also close. I think I stated I use the toolbar for google here. Because I like it. Does this answer the above questions. I'm with Lou on this one. Phillipa

I am unsure as to what you are wanting to mean here. If you could post answers to the following, then I could have the opportunity to respond accordingly. Choose the best answer
1. If you do not see any objective reasons;
a. then there are none
b. there could be objective reasons
c. it has not been established that Phillipa has an ongoiing worry
d. ongoing worries are not always objective
e. objective worries are seldom ongoing
f. Phippa's reasoning is objective because what can be seen is what it is.
g. none of the above
h. all of the above
h2 Phillipa's needs are not defined here
h3 Phillipa's needs have not been in question here
h4 Phillipa needs to know what these needs could be, if any so she could have the opportunity to post what she thinks about what you wrote concerning her.
k. some of the above which are _______________

It's true, they did close. The writing board is the one I miss, but I think we were ok with getting rid of the others, but wait?? Was there a books board?? Am I making things up?
What will be, will be. Until then....

Yes, and people actually posted to it, a long time ago now.
What you said about feeling exposed in posts, SG, I can relate to.
Numbers are important, PJ, but what can you do? It was fun, wasn't it?

I think that using the word "please" would have been more polite when asking so much of someone. Speaking for myself, I would refuse to do as you ask without it.
I much prefer the writing style you exercised in your previous post. It was easier for me to follow. I found it lucid and logical, and it showcased your high intelligence.

Is it polite to critique a poster's politeness and announce your hypothetical refusal to answer if the magic word is not included? Please don't answer. Thanks in advance.

I am sorry for not acceding to your wishes here, but I felt the need to reply. Now there are two questions to answer.
Choose one.

Yes you are correct there was also a books board. Wow down to end of the boards how many left? Not many for sure. Maybe it's back to the beginning before I was here where there was one board. But then Bob was also around and he's absent. Unless he's posting as a poster with another name. P

Did someone tell you where the plug is or something? If Babble were to "close" I expect the doctor would post something to that effect.
This is just an escalation of the "where is everyone" ongoing theme.
As Mel put it, "yawn".

Perhaps you could get you question answered by this site's operator if you were to post it on the Administration board.

It seems to me that for you not to post your comments on Administration is to capitulate and leave unused the forum that was designed to function to address concerns like yours.
You won't even try?

Phillipa, I think that you are expressing concerns that many of us have. I personally don't worry so much about whether Babble will close, but I do worry about its future vitality and health if it doesn't have an actively involved leader. It's impossible to know whether Dr. Bob reads actively or not. Given your long, favorable history with him, I, too, hope that you will express your concerns on Administration. Receiving an answer, no matter what it turns out to be, would really help the uncertainty we all have. Why not try?
