best benzo for interview?

Posted by saturn on October 8, 2006, at 18:54:44

I've only ever taken a few doses of valium. I'm thinking xanax would probably be the way to go...shorter half life than klonopin. Any suggestions? Does Niravam have a faster onset than regular xanax (the Niravam website says no but I'm wondering if Niravam might be faster than pill form if you have food in your stomach). Thanks...Saturn

Out of all of them i like .5mg of Ativan. Relaxes me enough to help overcome the stage fright, but doesn't leave me feeling spacey or overly tired like all others. Might want to do a trial run as I know people who don't respond in quite the same way (i.e. makes them tired).

Some things you know, prepare as much as possable the night before, iron, lay out your clothes, prepare needed paper work etc.

Clear everything so u can have a peaceful night and beging something like klonopin in tiny doses the night before, stay active, but calmly.

Klonopin works well when u move around very slow, but move,it kinda latches on,but the night before use specs of a dose.

That calm will follow over, even if u dont sleep, and having everything prepared will be a plus for that last second mood.

Chances are,and im shooting in the dark here,if youre well enough to even be going to this, your well enough to at the last minute dig for that energy,a shower right up to the last minute helps to.

Personaly id use klonopin,on the hour in extremly minimal doses, klonopin is not good for immediate anxiet like xanax, however when accumalted over a few hours, well lets say ive sat in front of a judge who held my xmas eve plan in her hands,i had my hands folded,i stared her straight in the eyes, answered each question, and she released me.

This was fyi a time when a dumb mistake (adding ritalin to parnate) was done and for a few hours i was comptply maniac,if others had simply gave me a high dose of klonopin,a dose unusualy high,it would have saved that entire episode.

Anyway good luck, bet a million bucks you do fine

I found a small dose (.25 mg) of xanax was great for me. But it's all so individual. It seems like if you take a tiny dose of just about any benzo, it will produce a minimal calming effect which is really all you need unless you're just a complete basket case! LOL

Yeah, I haven't posted in awhile. I am using this as an excuse to procrastinate on stuff right now. Thought I'd drop in and sprinkle my input.

I feel clear-headed with Ativan. I feel somewhat intoxicated with Xanax. For me, Ativan is calming, but not sedating. I think it is an ideal drug for such a circumstance. I really don't know what to suggest for a dose - maybe 0.5mg?

I've taken diazepam for interviews myself.

A small dose of Xanax, maybe .5mg.

But actually "stage fright" issues, if you do not have heart problems, are frequently solved by a dose of the beta-blocker propranolol. I would just test this if you decide that in advance to see that you don't feel faint. The only advantage with a beta blocker over a benzodiazepine is that you may have more mental clarity. You want to remember facts and be engaged in the conversation in an interview
