I seen a post that you are after info on reboxatine.. i was on it.... its called edronax (sp) i dont think it has been approved by the food administer what eva. lol.. anyt questions feel free to ask me? i was on it for about 2 mnths...

What kind of effects did it give you?
I'm on Efexor+Remeron which is making me pretty happy but it hasn't added much drive or motivation yet. I'm wondering should I ask my doc about a Reboxetine trial or should I just keep increasing the amount of Efexor?
I am also interested in peoples opinion on Nortriptyline since it is a med I can get & Desipramine since it's the closet thing to Nortrip.
All input on Reboxetine, Nortriptyline & Desipramine from anyone would be greatly appreciated. :)

Reboxatine is much like effexor.. it made me very manic... thats why i had to come of it... i am now on remeron alone 45mg.. keep with effexor and remeron if you are happy.. whats the does?

> DonnaI have a couple of days of very mild & pleasant hypomania when I increase my Efexor dose. I'm hoping that it not a sign of BP2. I haven't had a proper diagnosis yet, still on a waiting list to get in to see a pdoc.

I went to my GP & he started me on Prozac. That was a disaster but no one was injured so I got off Prozac & switched to Efexor. I've been moving up since then & my GP is pretty cool & let me add Remeron which did wonders for me. In the begining of January I got a referal to a pdoc, the waiting list here is 3 months if I want it for free.

Nortriptyline has helped me a lot, it improves my sleep and is part of the reason I am approximating a functioning person most of the time.
I would call it a stimulating med overlaid with a sedating one... a useful combination.
I think desipramine is much less sedating and probably closer to Strattera or reboxetine than nortriptyline. But I have never taken desipramine, that is just the impression i have gotten from reading posts.I actually take Strattera concurrently with nortriptyline, as I have serious brain fog/ ADD issues and nortriptyline is better as an antidepressant than as an ADD med (because of its sedating qualities).

Hi Sad Panda,
I have been on Reboxetine for 6 Month and turned me into a nervous and extremely depressed zombie. That was the worst time in my life. But you might react very different to it.
I currently started Nortriptyline and I experience great improvements! Its just my 3rd day in 50 mg, and I hope the effect will hold on. 150mg is my target dosage. Its much like Amitriptyline, but is much more activating and less sedating. A nice drug with stimulating and also sedating properties.
I cant say anything about Desipramine, because I have never tried it.Good Luck!

I take 75 mg/day. Side effects: constipation, occasional dry mouth. Most of the s/e attended startup and dose increase, and went away fairly quickly, like the heavy sedation, dizziness (from orthostatic hypotension), and a few others.

Maybe its the 100mg Diphenhydramine I also take. But I was also taking 50mg Diphen. while on Amitriptyline. I guess it is just a transient side effect and will go away with time, or with reduction of Diphen.
I am very suprised BTW. On the noradrenergics I have taken (Remeron, Reboxetine) I got worse. On Nortriptyline I do quite good! But its not the "woo hoo" ultimate remission thing, by now. It just helps a bit. Total sleep time is a bit shorter and its easier to wake up and get out of bed in the morning. Thats allRoland
