Nortriptyline has helped me a lot, it improves my sleep and is part of the reason I am approximating a functioning person most of the time.

I would call it a stimulating med overlaid with a sedating one... a useful combination.

I think desipramine is much less sedating and probably closer to Strattera or reboxetine than nortriptyline. But I have never taken desipramine, that is just the impression i have gotten from reading posts.I actually take Strattera concurrently with nortriptyline, as I have serious brain fog/ ADD issues and nortriptyline is better as an antidepressant than as an ADD med (because of its sedating qualities).
