Hullo, Sabrina!
This poem was inspired by the topic that I have the most difficult time addressing: the disintegration of my marriage due to my bipolar disorder and my former wife's meltdown while trying to cope with its effects. But ultimately, you needn't concern yourself with that. It could just as well be about anyone I care about. I write my poems to make my feelings accessible to anybody, and to raise the unspoken question: "Can anyone out there identify with this?" I'm pleased that you can, that I was able to make some sort of connection. Knowing that I'm not alone in many of the painful life experiences that bp disorder has brought my way makes me feel a bit less isolated. Ta. Atticus
