Thought provoking writing. Aren't we all "nowhere people" in some sense? Passing people in the street, or the mall, or the grocery store or even in the corridors at work, time after time, and not ever getting to know them or letting them get to know you. I often wonder about people that I see - are they happy? do they feel lonely? do they have a warm place to sleep and good food on the table? It makes me sad sometimes to think that someone does not even have their basic needs met on a daily basis.

But, perhaps your poem was about something a little closer to home.
