Waiting

Posted by AdaGrace on April 19, 2005, at 21:50:31

I sit here and wait for him to fall asleep.
Hoping it comes soon.
Praying for the time alone.

I sit here and wait for all to fall asleep.
Waiting for the silence that comes with a house in slumber.

I stay awake, waiting to hear from you.
Waiting forever to get a tiny piece of you I crave.
Wondering if you will ever, ever love me again.

A pathetic woman, in the throws of turmoil.
My searing soul waiting for your return.
But it won't happen.
It can't happen.

Your replacement pales.
I'm waiting for you.
Looking for you.
Searching in every man who comes my way.

You're not there.
You never will be.
Yet I look still.
