Hi Malthus!
You're spot on about the origin of the fedora that I put on the Cheshire subway musician. I tried to include the raccoon coat, too, but it slowed the beat of the narrative just a little too much. Still, that's the kind of image that sticks in my head and turns up in various forms in all my poems set in Manhattan. Loved meeting you, too, of course! Ta. ;) Atticus
