In reply to quitting Effexor XR cold turkey, posted by Kimmber on July 5, 2005, at 11:03:45

Most of the Effexor withdrawal discussions are for people that were on large doses (225 mg in my case), and often for very long periods of time. My psychiatrist was going to have me go from 75mg to 0mg originally, but I requested to drop 37.5mg at a time (thinking from previous experience with any medicine that side effects tend to always get me).

People have different reactions, not everyone gets withdrawal, or at least not everybody as severely. You may be just fine! But at least having come here and read our horror (and success) stories, you will be prepared in case withdrawal does hit.
