What you might want to do is to take minute amounts of Effexor several times a day, using it only when the zaps appear. You would be using it almost like aspirin for a headache. As long as you monitor your daily intake and establish a maximum daily dosage you would be operating a true taper strategy. I used to carry around with me a tablet with me and simply bit off very small pieces as needed.

Do you have tablets to work with or only capsules?
