I never felt he particularly liked us (the audience), but I don't mind performers who ignore us. Better than fake ingratiating.
There was a Dylan concert here years ago. He never said a word. The full moon lit up a pelican as it flew low across the sky and everyone cheered.
Rape jokes and the reaction to them are somewhat new. People used to put it differently. I have always been nervous of any gender specific statements that might include me....'I wouldn't be a member of any club that would have me.' Which might be why I want to belong so much.
