Hi, Rich,

I think I can relate to you here. Do you feel that by watching something on television (say, about "Mothman," a haunting, urban legends, etc.) that you are going to manifest those things materially? If that is what you feel, I can relate to you.

But I am also aware, at the same time, that this is deeply a part of my anxiety disorder. In fact, I am accurately aware of how my thoughts shape my feelings and mood, so I do try to notice how my physical feelings change according to my thoughts, and then change those thoughts if they are causing me pain. Does that make sense? (Not that I am always, or even mostly, successful! It's a hard battle with my overly anxious mind.)

Anyway, I hope you can find relief when thoughts and feelings like that torture you. I have worked myself into a frenzy several times (worrying that the world was ending once in the early 2000s), and in retrospect, it was completely pointless.

Hang in there, man.

Sincerely,
Chris
