Aging/getting older/self-image/what to wear etc

Posted by Kath on June 10, 2009, at 13:00:51

This gets a little graphic further on, as one of the things I am talking about is to-wear-a-bra-or-not.
:-)

I welcome input from everyone - guys also, & all ages. :-)

I'm 62.

I feel in about my 40's - which is a BIG improvement, because a couple of months ago I 'felt' 60!!

However, I am getting to look older. I've had numerous people (including son's friends) when they hear my age, say 'no way! I thot you were in your, maybe early 50's. But I've also had store people say, 'Seniors get 20% off'.

Sometimes I go to put on clothes that I have, & think "Jeez - maybe I'm too old to wear that".
I'm not a tiny bathing suit. And I wouldn't wear tight, short shorts, or really short skirts.

An example is a straight skirt with a small slit at the hem in the back - about an inch above my knees. Part of me thinks "WHY would I even think about it???" Another example might be a blouse with a frill down the front (don't have one, but tried one on in store & vetoed it).

Also, I usually don't wear a bra. I am not large-busted at all & not saggy; the only reason I'd wear a bra would be to not have what my daughter & I call 'NST' - nipple-show-through - sometimes perhaps you can sort of notice (not see through, but shape). I asked my husband if he cares if we were in public & you could tell & he laughed & said No! LOL

I've never felt funny about it, but now I'm thinking, "Is it okay, at my age to dress like this?"

It feels really weird.

I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this, or has any thoughts or opinions about these types of things??

Thx for any feedback. Kath
