I used to build snow forts for my cat to play in. Tunnels and walls, with lots of twists and turns for her to hide in. She loved snow, especially if us kids were out in it with her. It used to make us laugh to see her gingerly take a step out on the snow and see if it would hold her weight or not. She did not like to fall through to her kitty armpits, but would rather step in to old prints that she knew would hold her weight.
I like snow too, and I find that it's a big part of the homesickness that I feel every year now that I've been living in a semi-tropical climate for so long (seven years!).
