Recently, it was suggested to me that I may be ADD. Most girls aren't diagnosed because they tend to act out less than boys; they're often just distracted, fidgety, and daydreamers. I'm not sure if I am ADD, but certainly, I had a lot of trouble in school because I couldn't focus, couldn't organise myself, and had trouble with that whole 'sit quietly' thing. Also, I think one of my biggest underlying problems is an unwillingness to trust others with my emotions. We did an activity when I was nine where we listed our support network--who did we go to when we were having a problem? When I didn't put anyone down, my teacher treated me as though I was just being stubborn and lazy (which I'm sure to some extent I was). I had self-destructive thoughts from when I was quite young; I never thought to tell anyone about them.
