I've got a recommendation.

My stylist is a gay guy- ergo no sexual tension. He has a far better sense of style than I do. I am comfortable letting him suggest things. I bring in a picture and he is inspired by it, but doesn't try to make it too literal.

My hair is thin and baby fine. He told me my hair is "great" because it takes about 2 minutes to blow-dry, and it's weightless, so that with the right product, it will hold its shape and volume longer than the medium-haired folks. (note to self- bring more money next time to buy the definition-texturizing putty and superdurable Aveda hairspray next time)

AND here's the best part. he spontaneously told me about his various trials on anti-depressants-- I was trying to explain my lack of hair hygeine "um, I've been really stressed out the last few months, and haven't really been able to keep my hair styled regularly" "oh, that's fine! You're going to see a BIG difference when we're through... you know? it's kind of like this time when I was depressed- and then they put me on wellbutrin, and I was like MaNiC for 2 weeks straight, and I wasn't sleeping at all, and I changed my hair-style and color, like, every 2 days. I was TOTALLY wigging out... etc."

and somehow I gradually learned that his family is perhaps even more dysfunctional than mine. And we cursed. haha, even though the old ladies next to us were talking about their poodles and arthritis, we were talking about the various felonies his brother had committed... haha"

It was like good old times.

And the cut is fabulous. :)
