um, I'm really the odd one out here.
I never would dream of asking anyone to take off their shoes. I know one person who does. She and I do not get on-- not that it has anything to do with that.
I would be rather put out if someone asked me to. Really unhappy.
I'm very attached to my shoes. In fact, I wouldn't feel comfortable at all without my shoes (boots)-- I'd totally off my game. Out of my comfort zone. At a loss.
My boots are really important to my self-image. Wow. I had no idea taking off your shoes was such a wide=spread thing.
