Thanks everyone. Man, they are working us hard at the store. We had to work in the stockroom most of the day. Then we had to color coordinate the clearance section, which took us forever. The girl I was there with from the corporate office had never worked in retail before, so it was kind of fun to watch her slowly comprehend how hard the work was and that they did this EVERYDAY. She's sweet but has obviously had a privileged life. So I guess the experience does give people more respect for the ones who work in the stores. Of course, I already knew how freaking hard it was, which was why I worked my *ss off to get into a different profession! I'm not really bitter, I just like to complain about it (ha, ha). I actually think its good for people to see how hard the 'working man' works, and for so little money. So tomorrow I go back to the stockroom.

Of course I know there are jobs way, way harder than this. Nursing for one, I can't even comprehend the extent of how hard they work - or school teachers! But at least that's helping people, which makes retail and fast food just seem so trivial. I guess that's why it sucks so bad that they have to work so backbreakingly hard.

Oh, and waitressing! I'd never be able to do that! I would SO spill stuff all over people!!!! I grudgingly went to Hooters last week for my going away party at work. I really got a whole new respect for those girls. I mean, they not only have to do the exasperatingly difficult job off waitressing, but they also have to put their bodies on display and take all the sh*t they get because of it. I mean, guys want this! That's why it pays good! So why should they feel bad about it? Maybe the guys should feel bad about it! Okay, I know, I know, off the soapbox. Its just that these girls were young enough to be my daughters! I just gained alot of respect for what they do. And of course they liked me because I was one of the few 'cool chics' who come in there. They said alot of chics who come in there are really bitchy to them.

I studied hard to learn my trade, but I still have alot of respect for those people who work the hard, unappreciated, crappy jobs. It wasn't all too long ago that I was one of them. Not that my job isn't hard, but its a different kind of hard, one that's more respected. People treat the others like crap. That just pisses me off.
