That makes sense. When something you relied on to comfort you goes away, you will mourn it.

Well, I'd say it really depends. I find myself in that place sometimes IRL when everyone around me is Christian. I'm agnostic but I'm also a very spiritual and moral person. It seems hard for some people to understand that. (Now I'm not talking about here, everyone is great about that stuff here! I'm just using this as an example.) So I just try to respect other people's beliefs as I would like them to respect mine, even if that doesn't happen. And as much as I would like to share my viewpoint and reasoning when certain conversations come up, I know it will do no good if the people involved aren't open to exploring other possibilities. There are times when you just have to stay quiet in order to keep the peace. I mean, what good would it do to try to talk to someone whose mind is closed on the matter. Wouldn't it be better to wait until you can talk to someone who is actually interested in discussing different possiblilies?
That's my two cents anyway. Take it for what its worth.

P.S. I have no idea which board you're referring to or what the subject matter is. I just want to make sure everyone knows that.
