I didn't hear about it until this morning, and it threw me right back to my trauma over Ruffian. That incident distressed me no end.
There's something about injuries to a poor dear who just can't understand what's being done to him/her that is just heartbreaking.
I used to love to go to the Fairgrounds with Daddy and he'd tell me the stories he heard from *his* grandfather.
I do hope that he turns out to be ok, mentally as well as physically. (I know what you mean about breeding him though. I'd want a thorough explanation for what happened to him and how it wasn't hereditary before I'd want to chance having something like that occurring again.)
