wedding/engagement rings: which finger/ hand?

Can someone clarify this for me please?

I know if a man or woman is wearing a ring on their ring finger, left hand, this means they're engaged or married.

After that I get confused. Do rings on the right hand mean anything?

I often see women with rings on their middle or even index finger (left hand). Do these mean anything? Pinky? Do woman wear rings on other fingers to communicate they're not married but unavailable?

And does a married woman wear 2 rings on her finger--an engagement and wedding?

I get confused!
