Sometimes (very often) I feel like there is so much stuff to do that it feels overwhelming. I might make a list of "chores" or something to do, which makes it worse I think. Then of all things, I'll keep adding stuff to it! I try to keep my lists as short as possible, or don't make them at all. I know what needs to get done.

Sometimes when I am in a DEPRESSED state, I just throw them away. I can always make a new one later. I'll turn the TV off, plug the iPOD into the stereo and purposely pace around the house listening to music until I finally feel like doing something more productive, like the dishes, after I have walked past them a dozen times. That usually gets my mind rolling into doing something else, like some laundry.

Other times when I am in a more MANIC state, I can't put the list down and keep busy. This is just part of my personality cycle that I have to accept. I guess it all averages out in the end.
