I think there are many of us who feel the same way. I've been told that there are lots of moms out there for us - that come into our lives as friends, coworkers, casual acquaintances - who fill that role at various times of our life.

It hurts to need a mom and not have the mom we have be able to be that mom. If that makes sense.
