Dinah,
I suggest charcoal capsules. They absorb a lot of "stuff" -- gas, acid, etc. and work quickly and well. I like them so much better than anything else for overeating/gastro stuff I've ever tried.
I've got a really sensitive stomach so I avoid most spicy foods. (Probably why cymbalta is still bugging me.) I think I've tried every home made remedy ever suggested.
