Cats pee in inappropriate places when they are under stress, such as when they are having problems with another cat in the house. They also do it when their litter boxes are too dirty (assuming the cat stays inside and has a litter box). Once they've peed somewhere, they might do it again if it still smells like pee.

Suggestion: wash all your stuff or spray it with something like PetZyme and keep your door closed.
