Ok. So I have been thinking and thinking and thinking about this...
I used to do a lot of dog obedience / agility and was interested in animal psychology - especially with respect to dogs.
I had a chat with one of my friends.
Maybe it is a dominance thing.
Does he tend to mark things that smell of people?
Maybe that is it.
Do you have problems with dominance with other things?
Does he growl if you take food off him?
Does he stand over you (if you are lying or sitting down does he try to get his head / shoulder above you?
If you were to lye him down and roll him onto his back and hold him there with your hand around his muzzle and one on his chest would he submit or struggle to get up?
