They scoped her nose and found nothing to account for it. They sent her home with antibiotics. If that doesn't clear it up, there's more (expensive) tests they can do.

She's just been miserable, though. We had her shaved down recently because she couldn't go outside for more than a couple of minutes without overheating. It was probably a mistake, though. She just follows me around and curls up in a very tight ball and shakes.

Sigh. We've got quite a crew.

One that's blind and deaf. One that has a bad heart but no symptoms yet. One that seizures and is on phenobarbital. One with a bad heart who collapses when she gets overexcited in this absolutely dead sort of immobility, then is ok a few seconds later. The one with the nosebleeds and the neuroses. And one healthy young one that I gave to my son.

I get calm calls from my husband and son all the time. Mooooommmmmm, X's collapsed in a heap. or Moooooommmmmm, Y's falling over. Or Moooooommmmmm, Z's bleeding all over the place. Yech.

The blind deaf dog seems healthy and happy though. Every day is an exciting challenge to her as she maneuvers from her bed to the food and water, occasionally finds her mommy (me), and every once in a while even wanders to where she's supposed to go to the bathroom. She's so happy all the time because she's just accomplished something.

I wonder if that's the key to happiness.

BTW, I really don't mind special needs dogs. In fact, I volunteered for the last two. They're just as sweet as any of the others. I'm not complaining, just smiling. Except maybe about the blood.
