As a textbook 'enabler-placator' in my 'family-of-origin' 'drama-trauma', I was certain that I grew up totally self efacing and giving; just this side of a doormat! So, VANITY was an unknown concept in my lexicon. No one EVER, EVER, EVER, accused me of being venal or vain; not for a minute!
BUT WAIT.....!
I now know that my vanity retarded my growth and recovery. I've laid it all out before, so I will just say that it is real!
1. Arrogance is also VAIN-IGNORANCE!
2. DENIAL is held in place by VAIN dismissals of knowledge and our own wrong-doings.
3. Grumbling is caused by our VAIN notions that its all someone elses fault, and that things SHOULD be better than they are! (who says?)Since my many epiphanies concerned with my vanity, recovery and wholeness and freedom and happiness have happened, "...and I ain't goin' back to the 'dark days' of before for nobody, no-how"!
