oooh, this is a good topic!

For me, it's not so much whole CDs I will pop in when I am depressed, but specific songs.

Examples:

"This Woman's Work" by Kate Bush. "I know you have a little life in you yet, I know you have a lot of strength left. I know you have a little life in you yet, I know you have a lot of strength left." This song has been remade by Seal but the Kate Bush version is better.

"Beautiful Day" by U2, we've probably all heard that one. "I know I'm not a hopeless case; What you don't have you don't need it now."

"Wallflower" by Peter Gabriel. "Hold on, hold on/They put you in a box so you can't get heard/Let your spirit stay unbroken, may you not be deterred/Hold on, you have gambled with your own life/And you face the night alone/While the builders of the cages/Sleep with bullets, bars and stone/They do not see your road to freedom/That you build with flesh and bone/Though you may disappear, you're not forgotten here/And I will say to you, I will do what I can do/You may disappear, you're not forgotten here/And I will say you you, I will do what I can do"

Oh, I just remembered there is an entire CD that I listen to when depressed: "LIttle Earthquakes" by Tori Amos. Especially "Silent All These Years."

Also some Christian songs, but this isn't the faith board and most people probably haven't heard of them.

"In the Light" by Led Zeppelin.

Oh yeah, anything by Aretha Franklin.
