I too, am moved by the warmth of the season- no matter that I live in a four season climate!
I found myself agreeing to "adopt" a child for Christmas even though our finances are a little tight.
Someone at my workplace set up an Angel Program. They got a list of a bunch of local poor people who cannot afford to buy gifts for their children this year and put up 2 paper angels with each kids' names along with a 1) want and 2) need. So as the mother of a 13 yr old boy, I got to buy an adorable little outfit (with little sherpa suede boots) for a 1 yr old girl for Christmas. It felt good, even while handing over the debit card to the cashier!
