Angela, I think that by making yourself available and open to your brother at any time, no matter what, you will be able to support him. Seeing a p-doc is great, and having you behind him with your love will only help.
p.s. I have a brother who can only really "talk" via email. On the phone or in person, he is flippant or aprupt. In typewritten words, his true feelings are reflected and they only bring us closer.
