The bad one is, I used to have a really close best friend from college. We hung out every weekend for years and years and called each other just to chat most every day. She started dating a guy and he got included on a lot of stuff we did together, but not all, and everything seemed great.
They got married in 98 and she pretty much disappeared immediately. Went from chatting every day to NEVER calling. Months go by now without my hearing from her. I was very hurt in 98, but accepted it and moved on, relegating that friendship to a more casual one.
Last week I got an invitation to a surprise baby shower for her and her husband. I'm really pretty hurt to have found out she's pregnant through an invitation. I haven't spoken to her since August. Plus, she had lupus as a teen and the whole pregnancy issue was extremely difficult for her, so this is SUPER HUGE GOOD NEWS for her.
I'm just pretty hurt about that whole thing. I'm not good enough to call personally, but I'm good enough to be put on a shower list so I can be a personal shopper and get her something off her registry. ??
Good news: I have a crush on a 24-year-old guy at work, and I think he's flirting back. :-) (I'm 36, so it's weird). Anyway, it's making me smile......
