Here's something to keep in mind when you come back:
I've been here from about the start -- maybe 1998? During that time, I've spilled out all the muck and mire and truly horrid gunk in my life and in my soul -- and you know what? People here still answer me. I'm not spurned for my continuing pain. Sure, there are times when people say that I have to do something for myself, and sometimes that comes at a time when I can't take it and I fall apart. Mostly, though, everyone here knows what it feels like when everything in the world is going against us, when it seems as if nothing will ever change for the better -- but a whole lot may change for the worse. And everyone here, knowing that, reaches out a hand to help another hold on just that little longer.
I wish you all the best. And I want to remind you that you've found almost the only place in the world where you're unlikely to experience "compassion fatigue" from the community.
When you're ready to come back to us, we'll still be here, and we'll still care -- deeply -- about you.
