It's still a great place to live, but we're probably moving in the next year because the SFUSD is really in trouble and if we move to Concord (yuck!) our daughter will be able to go to public school and actually get an education. Oh how I dread moving to the suburbs! I'm just not that kind of girl. (My hair isn't nearly big enough.) Wish us luck in Concord where they're oh so supportive of interfaith, interracial familes.

I moved from The City to San Jose. I thought I would hate it, but I loved it. I did not live in a cookie-cutter development, I lived in a 1920s house with lots of trees in the yard. There was a children's bookstore practically around the corner. I had a hammock in the yard. I frequented a fabulous farmer's market. We planted rosebushes. I took the kids to feed the koi. Not only were there interracial, interfaith families, there were intersexual and intergender families.

Then I moved from San Jose to Washington DC. This place I do hate. I'm moving back to SF in June. I actually kind of wish I was moving back to my house in San Jose.
