I just read your canned-ness part out to my husband, and he went into technicalities of the best to way make sure it all stays intact!! *lol* He reccomends putting the can in hot water for 30 seconds to melt the very edge, to give less resistance when removing! *laughing*
Anyway.. being a brit, I only discovered Cranberry sauce last christmas!!! I cooked a chestnut and cheese thing, and the recipe reccomended cranberry and orange sauce. This required making up a batch of cranberry sauce - and as I could only buy this huge bag of frozen cranberries, I made alot, so I could freeze it easily! So, I made the sauce in advance, and on Christmas day, heated up some of it, adding orange juice and rind, and leaving it simmering for about 45 minutes to reduce.. it was gorgeous!!
Anyway (nothing like making a short story long) 2 weeks before Christmas we'd been to Euro Disney, and on way home we stopped at a French Hypermarket and bought 2 kilo's of Brie (4 1/2 lbs!), meaning to share it out amongst friends and family.
But we discovered Brie and cranberry sauce sandwiches.. *droools* They are heavenly!! Oh my, they are sooo good!! And with crusty french bread they are one of the best things on earth *l*
So thats how I discovered my love of Cranberry sauce!! *l*Oh, and google.com doesn't have any can shaped sauce for me *pouts* Its just plain normal google.. Thats not fair!
