Well, I suppose it goes without saying that anyone who likes sweets, and wants to satisfy that craving sans calories, often reaches for aspartame diet soda. It makes me uneasy. I drink it, yah, but there are some people on the web who think aspartame is a slow but deadly poison, and they're not necessarily conspiracy yahoos, either. The trick of it is, human health in the modern age is gradually getting better, due to technological advances; but an advancement in the general level of health, may be partially (but significantly) cancelled out by an INSULT to our health which is ALSO a result of modern technology. I'm SOOOO confused! Some of the villifyers of aspartame seem to have a knowledge (a least sufficent unto the cause of fooling MY ignorant ass) of biochemistry, that I lack. At the same time, though unlikely, it's possible that a large corporation like Searle could quite literally buy off enough politicians to get away, almost literally, with murder.
