We don't have a Walmart inside the city limits so I usually have to settle for Walgreens. I don't like malls or clothes shopping (thank heavens for J.Jill catalogs) but I can spend an hour or more inside this drugstore just looking at everything, it's very strange...I get in there and sort of go into a trance, just about. I'm sure I get the same look on my face as one of my friends, when she's playing the slot machines in the casino - she stares at the machine like she's hypnotized
and doesn't "snap out of it" until her tokens are gone.

I can't pass up the makeup aisle no matter what. I have to look at all the new stuff on display in the center, and I allow myself to buy ONE makeup thing per shopping trip, so usually I check out a lot of the regular stuff - comparison shopping.

If I'm there to buy vitamins, I read labels on a bunch of the bottles. If I'm buying shampoo, I go through a lot of different hair products. I love stuff that smells good, so I smell the bath gels and lotions and powders, also the candles. At least I try to put everything back where it was so the Walgreens people don't hate me...

I don't come out of my trance until the cashier says, "That will be eighty-six dollars," and I go,
ohmyGod what all did I buy!! I get home, sit on the rug and start digging through the bag. Here's an ordinary shopping trip-

Lipstick
Scented candle
Hair gel
A bottle of vitamins or diet pills
Real Simple magazine
Chocolate Velamints
Starbucks Mocha Frappaccino

And maybe something I actually need. Gosh no wonder I'm always broke.
