Winter solstice: sol invictus

Posted by Anna Laura on December 22, 2001, at 5:07:27

"The Winter Solstice is the time when the Sun once more begins its tropical journey north. This, the longest night of the year, happens on the eve of the 22nd of December. This major calendrical event is the focus of religious and social festivities in all cultures,
The official recognition of sun worship in the Roman Empire began during the time of Aurelian when he instituted the cult of "Sol invictus". (the " invincible sun"). "

I'd like to think there's an invincible sun deep inside each one of us . Even if it's dark and gloomy outside we'd be sure it would rise some day or another.
I wish we all could watch this sun rise bringing back the forgiven summer we've been longing for.
